| --------- | ------------------------------ |
| GPU       | High-performance dedicated GPU |
| VRAM      | 8 GB or higher                 |

### What kind of hardware do I need?
* **Video Card (GPU)**
A high-end video card will have the most significant impact on the quality and responsiveness of your 3D design.
A dedicated DirectX 12 video card with a minimum benchmark score of 4500 is required to run the software correctly. Note: Integrated cards, such as Intel cards are not supported.
* **Video Card Memory (VRAM)**
More memory means more textures and models can be loaded on the graphics card. If you design with lots of trees and imported objects, you will need more video card memory.
* **CPU (Processor)**
The CPU determines how fast the 2D drawing responds. A strong CPU will greatly increase the speed of creating 2D designs, changing stages, and loading the software.
The speed at which videos and images can be rendered depends on the CPU. The more cores, the better.
* **RAM**
RAM is used for textures and models in 3D scenes. When more RAM is available, more objects can be loaded into the 3D scene, more textures can be used, and those textures will be of a higher quality.
For small properties, 16GB of RAM is acceptable. For larger properties, the computer will require more RAM to run the application. If lots of other software applications or internet browsers are open, the computer will require RAM in general.
* **Hard Drive (HDD or SSD)**
The speed of the hard drive determines the loading speed of the software and library. It also determines how quickly projects are saved. For example, an NVMe will reduce waiting time, determining how quickly projects auto save. For faster loading and saving, an SSD hard drive is recommended. An M.2 NVMe is suggested to improve speed while designing, loading, and saving.

---
### Will the software run on macOS?

No, the software cannot be installed on macOS or OS X.

---
### Can I use Apple Boot Camp to run the software?

**Version 2** can run on a 16" MacBook Pro using Apple Boot Camp, but only if the system has an Intel Core i7 processor and an AMD Radeon Pro 5300M GPU (5500M preferred). Boot Camp is not supported on MacBook Air models with M1 or M2 chips.
**Version 3** and **Version 4** require DirectX 12. Because MacBook Pros do not support DirectX 12, Boot Camp cannot be used to run Version 3 or Version 4.

---
 ### How do I install Boot Camp to run Version 2?
* Visit the Apple Boot Camp Assistant User Guide (<https://support.apple.com/guide/bootcamp-assistant/welcome/mac>) to install Boot Camp.
* Once in Windows, update the video card drivers.
* Install the software.
---
### Will Parallels/VMWare Fusion run the software?
Parallels 17 is not suggested. VMWare Fusion will not work.

## Field & Immersive Tools
### Can I use it in the field?

Yes. You can use your laptop to share photos and videos with clients; some designers connect to a television with an HDMI cable or via a digital media player to show an expanded view. With the integrated Presentation Mode, you can walk or “fly” your client through your detailed design, adding lighting, text, and sound effects to create an immersive experience. When you add YARD, you can share your ideas in augmented reality with your iPad Pro.

---

### Can I use it on a tablet?

Yes. You can use YARD, the AR App for the iPad Pro, to create and explore Augmented Reality designs with clients in true scale from any angle. As you walk around your client’s property with an iPad Pro in hand, YARD will use the tablet’s camera to automatically determine the scale. The scale is typically accurate to within just a few inches; if necessary, you can adjust the size and scale of your designs. An internet connection is not required to use YARD on the job site; however, a data plan, or constant internet, makes it easier to download new objects and materials while on the go.

---

### Is VR Available?

Yes. You can use Meta Quest 3 hardware to present your design in Virtual Reality to your clients. These settings and options are available through the software’s Presentation Mode.
