How I Use Pictures to Speed Up Design Time

“If time is money, it seems moral to save time.” --Theodor Adorno

When I travel to meet different groups of landscape, hardscape, and swimming pool designers, I often hear a familiar concern: “I never have enough time.”

It’s tough to strike the right balance when you’re selling, designing, and building projects. Sometimes, after showing a demonstration of our outdoor living design software, swimming pool design software, hardscape design software, or professional landscape design software, I hear: “If I built high-end projects, I would use this."

I always wonder, why would someone use a visualization tool only on high-end projects when it’s so easy to design small projects, too?

So when I hear that, I ask, “If you’re installing a new driveway, how long does it take you to write down the measurements?” The answer is almost always the same: “About five minutes.”

To me, that sounds like a challenge.

I set out to learn how much time it would take a designer to create a 3D design that is done to scale and is ready to price out.

Guess what? You can design a small project in only four minutes.

That’s right: just four minutes. We made a video to prove it. Here are the results:

Would four minutes of your time be worth growing your outdoor living close ratio by 35%?

We all know that, as human beings, we are visual by nature. When you show your customers how their space will look in 3D landscape design software, you’re helping them connect with it. Even if it’s a project as small as a driveway.

It doesn't matter how you design it, or what software you use to do it. Designing in 3D will save you time and help your clients see why you’re their new designer of choice.

See for yourself how quickly you can complete a project when you create your next pool, hardscape, or landscape design in 3D.
